Abundance at Montalto – a celebration of the olive

On 19 & 20 July 2008 Montalto celebrates the mystical and revered olive with our annual weekend fiesta.

With the joy of harvest passed, the oil pressed and the olives cured, Montalto owners the Mitchell family continue their practice of sharing the natural beauty and bounty of their stunning 50 acre amphitheatre property with produce from the 1500 olive trees.

A fiesta...

A festival atmosphere infuses Montalto with food, wine, music, friends and laughter – and of course olives! Stalls for tasting and buying oils, trees, olive inspired foods, wine and natural health & beauty products provide the backdrop for curing demonstrations, olive information & knowledge sharing, live entertainment (including a visit from Popeye & Olive Oil!) and other
activities. Enjoy an olive oil massage by Wendy , a tour of the olive grove by John or try your luck in an olive pip spitting competition.

Food & wine with a touch of the olive...

As always at Montalto, food and wine is a highlight. Indulge in a touch of the olive, from provincial olive recipes to paella and pissaladière in the Piazza, or even a classic martini. For the ultimate olive dining experience, the Montalto Restaurant becomes an olive grove for the weekend. A not to be missed event featuring a special olive menu and a convivial atmosphere.

Abundance at Montalto is the first opportunity to taste the new season Montalto olive produce, including:

  • Classic Montalto extra virgin olive oil
  • Lemon & Basil Infused Olive Oils
