31 December - New Years Eve at Montalto

  • Join us for a celebratory evening as we welcome 2012.
  • Your evening will start on the deck overlooking the property with a complimentary glass of Cuvee and some delicious canapés, before heading in for an indulgent three course menu.
  • What better way to start a new year than with great company and a memorable meal.

New Years Eve Menu:

Entree:

  • Sauteed calamari on white bean salad
  • Quail assiette
  • Seafood terrine

Main:

  • Crayfish tail on a rockmelon salad
  • Lamb trio- rack, rump and confit leg
  • King George Whiting warm salad of artichokes, Flinders mussels, garden basil puree

Dessert:

  • Yoghurt pannacotta honey jelly and raspberries
  • Chocolate bavois , candied hazelnuts and bacci ice cream
  • Peach and white chocolate torte

$130 per head includes welcome bubbles, canapés and three course menu. Other beverages not included.

3 January - Gala Opening Peninsula Music Festival

  • The fifth anniversary of the Peninsula Music Festival opens at Montalto with a superb evening of food, wine and song. Performing on this special evening will be Greta Bradman, described as one of 'Australia's finest young singers'. This talented soprano will be performing with ARIA award nominees Latitude 37 and Simon Martyn-Ellis to evoke the splendour of Spain's musical heritage, accompanied by a specially-designed meal and estate wines.
  • $200 includes the performance, canapés and bubbly on the deck and a two course set menu with wine. 7pm start.

9 January - Twilight Jazz

  • Our audiences are still talking about the inimitable Joe Chindamo's performance at our first Twilight Jazz in 2008. One of Australia's premier jazz pianists, his uniquely lyrical style and mastery of harmony bring to life both well-known standards and his own compositions.
  • We're delighted to welcome Joe and his Trio back to celebrate the end of our fifth Festival.
  • The Jazz has been a sold out success every year, so get in quick!

    Come exploring with us as we head into the vineyard and get the insiders look at what makes a vineyard work. Get up close at the magical time of "verasion" were we will cover a number of issues that can affect the land; soils, sun exposure, vine density and all things "terrior" related that will ultimately determine the wine we make.   • Fundamentals of Wine Tasting
    Wine tasting is significantly more than sipping and saying... We break down wine evaluation from sight, to smells, to tastes and finally the spit!! Extend your "vino-vocabulary" with helpful guided sessions on what to look for and how to say what you have found when enjoying a good wine. Free, RSVP to cellar door please.

    • Montalto Sculpture Prize opening
    The winner of the $20,000 acquisitive Prize is annouced at the opening at 4pm, twilight dinner available in the Restaurant after the opening, for reservations please call the Restaurant on 03 5989 8412.

  • Single Vineyard Pinot Noir
    With the New Release of three single vineyard Pinot Noirs from across our properties on the Mornington Peninsula, we focus on the impact of sight, soil and vine matched with restrained input from our winemaker Simon. Free, RSVP to cellar door please.

  • Riesling
    An obscure variety on the Mornington Peninsula, but given we are lucky enough to have some of the oldest Riesling vines we feel that it's time to look back on what a great aromatic variety this is. With the new release of the much anticipated 2010 Riesling we will be highlighting the amazing aging quality that Riesling possesses, with vertical tastings ranging back to 2003.
