
We believe great wine is made in the vineyard, and so we pay close attention to every detail that goes into making our wine. This starts with site, variety and clone selection.
Montalto started with 30 acres under vine at our home site, and as we became more closely connected to other sites through our vineyard contracting service we discovered new sites, offering varieties that we didn't grow, sites that were distinctive to ours offering the opportunity to explore the effect that varying sites and clones have on the Mornington Peninsula keynote varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
We are blessed with a long term and committed group of vineyard staff who understand the nuances of the vines, our sites and ensure we grow the best fruit possible in a given year.
