Piazza Cafe

The Piazza and Garden Café offers a casual, al fresco dining experience.

Drop in and grab a table overlooking the breathtaking views – either in the rammed earth sheltered courtyard or amongst the lush kitchen gardens.

Enjoy a glass or two of our estate wine with some simple, tasty food as you take in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

The small menu is all about good food – seasonal, fresh produce that tastes great with a glass of wine. Grazers may share some estate olives or house made dips, a cheese plate. Those looking for a more substantial lunch might enjoy one of our famous pizzas, braised lamb shanks in winter or a smoked salmon salad in summer.

The Piazza & Garden Cafe is open every day over Easter including Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The Piazza & Garden Café is open on weekends and public holidays from 11am - 4pm, serving food from 12 - 3pm.

Here is what The Age Cheap Eats Guide had to say about us:

In 2011

'the winery' is the Peninsula's version of 'the gastropub', and pinot and pizza in Montalto's cheerful Piazza is just the ticket.

In 2010

"Montalto? Isn't that too fancy for cheap eaters? Not at the Piazza Café, the casual cousin of the swanky dining room next door. And its fab, with an all-weather heated courtyard, vineyard views, and picnic-style tables among the vegie patch. Here, produce is gathered to create dishes like an heirloom pumpkin, goats cheese, almond and parsley pizza. Heftier dishes might include a beef and lamb shepherd's pie, or a superb pork belly, soft and salty on crispy char-grilled potato and a bed of sauerkraut. Then, kick back with a glass of Montalto pinot and enjoy the high life."
